for now is not forever

for now is not forever

(at least I think so)

What defines now?

chocking on the presence of certainty

a promised prophecy of a fluttering collective

affirming a fervent reality

Is it the collision of a story told and the one you are telling?

maybe

maybe now is an ultraviolet chaos

 erupting, raging, silent waves

an entropic force can hitch your breath

halting time itself to a cosmic yield

time like this can hold you so tight your blood runs cold

a time like this can begin to root and weep of mercy  at your soul

pleading for condemnation

loneliness is a symptom of a disordered existence

sometimes, the past can become a dense memory holding a narrow grip on time

sometimes, forgetting is the hardest thing to do when you don't want to forget the things that came with happy

someone once told me

birthdays are sad

they’re unflinching acknowledgments of time

great expectations distill your gaze

in sometimes synthetic celebration

“let us now measure how close or how far you are from the life you imagined?”

now, on this earth but briefly gorgeous

making and breaking like the eco cycle itself

pack your broken things

own them dear to you

because

for now

for now

they will fly you free
